How many hours do you have to wear Invisalign?

How many hours do you have to wear Invisalign?

The key to successful Invisalign treatment is following your dentist's instructions. Here, our Delta dentists share how many hours you should wear your Invisalign aligners and why.

Every patient's smile is unique. The overall length of your Invisalign treatment will depend on how misaligned your teeth are, but also on and how long you leave your aligners in each day. Your dentist is the only person who can say for sure how long your Invisalign treatment is likely to take.

No matter how long your treatment is planned to take, you must wear your Invisalign aligners for 20 to 22 hours each day. Your aligners should stay in your mouth as much as possible in order for the treatment to be effective.

Of course, one of the key benefits of Invisalign is that the aligners are removable, allowing you to eat and drink whatever you like. That said, it's important to resist the temptation to remove your aligners too often or for too long. Your aligners should only be temporarily removed when eating, drinking, or when brushing and flossing you teeth.

The less you wear your aligners, the longer your orthodontic treatment will take. It's important to understand that your treatment will be negatively impacted if you leave your Invisalign aligners out for too long.

To achieve a straighter smile with Invisalign just follow your dentist's instructions and leave your aligners in place for 20 to 22 hours every day.
